The team needed to be able to identify process gaps using data rather than relying on perceived issues.

Chart-NP partnered with Manufacturers Alliance to customize the Six Sigma Green Belt program to meet their specific needs, particularly focusing on leadership development and problem-solving. The online format allowed internal leaders to act as mentors and coaches, ensuring participants could apply concepts directly to their work.

The Results:
The program drove significant improvements across multiple projects, including:
- Weld defect reduction – Eliminated process variance, leading to $177K in savings in 2023 and $450K in cost avoidance in 2024.
- Mass Spec First Pass Yield (FPY) – Increased from 78% in 2023 to 98% in 2024.
- Other key projects included NCR process improvements, Andon system enhancements, MIP 10 failure reductions, and consumables optimization—all delivering measurable impact.
While Chart-NP continues to build its culture of continuous improvement, the Manufacturers Alliance’s Online Six Sigma Green Belt program has been a critical driver of progress and cost savings.
